Strategic Planning
Welcome to the Marin Health and Human Services Strategic Planning Initiative website!
At Marin Health and Human Services (HHS), we are dedicated to fostering a healthier and more resilient community. Our Strategic Planning Initiative is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of health and human services in Marin County.
Through collaborative efforts with community partners, stakeholders, and residents, we aim to develop a strategic road map that addresses the evolving needs of our diverse population. Our goal is to enhance access to high-quality health and human services, promote equity, and improve overall well-being for everyone in Marin.
Background
Our Strategic Planning Initiative aims to develop a refreshed 2024 HHS Strategic Plan in collaboration with two esteemed consultants: Health Management Associates (HMA) and Angela Nicholson. Together, we're committed to centering equity and inclusion, community input, and transparent communication throughout the planning process.
In our previous 2018 Strategic Plan, we focused on four key areas:
- Delivering culturally proficient and equity-centered client service
- Supporting and partnering with communities to generate change
- Addressing conditions underlying equity
- Improving the quality of HHS programs and services
Building on this foundation, we are dedicated to advancing racial equity and integrating insights from our Race Equity Action Plan into our new strategic framework.
Areas of Focus
Key areas of focus for our 2024 Strategic Planning Initiative include:
- Community Engagement: We believe in the power of community voices. Your input and feedback are essential as we work together to identify priorities and solutions that reflect the needs of all residents.
- Equity and Inclusion: We are committed to addressing disparities and ensuring equitable access to services for underserved populations. Our strategic plan will prioritize initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all programs and services.
- Innovation and Collaboration: By fostering innovation and collaboration, we can develop creative solutions to complex health and social challenges. We will leverage partnerships and explore new approaches to improve outcomes and maximize impact.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Our strategic planning process is informed by data and evidence-based practices. We will use data analysis and evaluation to identify trends, measure progress, and make informed decisions that drive positive change.
- Sustainability and Resilience: Building a sustainable and resilient health and human services system is essential for long-term success. Our strategic plan will focus on strategies to enhance sustainability, adaptability, and preparedness in the face of emerging challenges.
